INTRODUCTION

   
The translations have been used by the students at the moment of reading or making a written document or speaking, since it helps them to have a clearest idea or comprehension of what they are listening, reading or writing.
Every translation has one or more purposes whichever it is, the main aim of translation is to serve as a cross-cultural bilingual communication vehicle among peoples. In the past few decades, this activity has developed because of rising international trade, increased migration, globalization, the recognition of linguistic minorities, and the expansion of the mass media and technology. For this reason, the translator plays an important role as a bilingual or multi-lingual cross-cultural transmitter of culture and truths by attempting to interpret concepts and speech in a variety of texts as faithfully and accurately as possible. 


    As (Anthony, 2013, October 27) says the translation may be is not good for fluency or learning a second language, he is may be right on his argument, but of course, if the teaching is focused only in the translations it could be pretty difficult to learn a L2. The translation is a very important key to making the transition from one tongue to another, if there is not a translations the student or the person who is trying have a communication do not have the possibility of knowing the meaning of a word or a phrase, it is very hard to have a good comprehension of knowing what an article or another person talking wants to transmit; at school the most of the teachers translates the activities and another does not, in both cases the students will get confused, so they can’t learn  because they do not understand and on the other hand, they can’t learn because they already know what the phrase or activity says because it is translated, all this is pretty difficult and confusing, since both strategies aren’t right for the learning and teaching, so teacher must start developing activities of translations where the students put on to practice their previous knowledge and learn new vocabulary, this using the old methodology, with the physic dictionary, so they will be forced to look for the words that they do not know on it, and consequently they will memorize those words and remember them, making their mental vocabulary even bigger, and the teacher will can speak and write to the students every time more in a L2 without having the need of translating everything or having the problem that the students do not have a good performance because he/she does everything in an L2 and the students do not learn because everything is in a language that they still do not domain or have very little knowledge and vocabulary about it.

CONCLUSION

    The translations are a method of communication, since it helps many people to know their culture and roots, if the translation is well used, it could be a powerful tool for learning if the person knows how to manage it; this activity makes me understand the importance of the translation and the good use of it, because there are several ways of using the translation and if do not know how to use it right, it could be little or nothing useful for the process of learning.

      As far as teaching methodologies are concerned, very broadly speaking the communicative approach is the one that favors fluency the most, typical fluency activities are role-playing and more communicative activities where English is used as a medium of communication rather than an end in itself, while the audio-lingual and grammar-translation‏‎ just approach favor accuracy. Teachers who concentrate on accuracy help their students to produce grammatically correct written and spoken English, ideally aiming towards the accuracy of a native speaker of similar age and background.
     Translation encourages learners to use L1, often for long periods, Native teachers of English argue that foreign language learning needs as much exposure to L2 as possible during classroom time, and any usage of L1 or translation is a waste of time. Modern communicative approaches to language learning considered the use of L1 in class, as undesirable. However, recently the attitude to mother tongue and translation in language classes has undergone a positive change
     The skills involved in translation may not be suitable for all kinds of learners. It may, for example, be best for learners, who are more analytical or have preferences for verbal-linguistic learning strategies, using the written and the spoken word. A verbal/linguistic learning style gives to pick up new words easily and have a large vocabulary, showing the real usefulness of translation in English class, this lies in the students are being aware of the differences, exploiting it in order to compare grammar, vocabulary, word order and other language points in English and the student’s mother tongue. Professionals in teaching foreign languages consider that translation teaches learners about the English language; instead, how to use it.

     In this paper, it is necessary to begin by defining the word translation since, in addition to serving as a medium for communication, translation is a complicated activity that includes linguistic, cultural, communicative and cognitive elements.
It can be said that translation is the technical and methodological base where it is necessary to easily use the knowledge obtained and the skills deployed in the English language. Translation improves critical reading skills, as the student makes a translation, it analyzes each word and the meaning it has, thus allowing the student to acquire new skills in reading.
   Translation allows two or more communities in a fluid way as it establishes a contact and relationship between the different cultures in the world. In this way, countries of different languages contribute to good understanding and good development, since the translation is a grammatical and linguistic activity because it respects the message that is to be communicated from one language to another, that is, it is done with great care, with the so as not to alter the message.
    Translation helps the growth of cultures and closes the spaces between one community and the other, allowing access to all types of people, in order to strengthen relations between the countries.
    Frequently applying the translation exercise can help improve grammatical awareness, you can learn vocabulary and writing of many words unconsciously, this is achieved when the person repeats many times a certain number of words.
     Leonardi (2010, 81f.) Affirms that: "Translation exercises can serve a variety of purposes ranging from linguistic problems to more cultural, semantic and pragmatic concerns." In addition, translation can help students improve their analytical and problem-solving skills, which are essential in everyday life, as well as in most fields of work.

CONCLUSION

     To conclude, this essay states that translation is an unconscious act of the students and of the people who are learning a second language and that it is the duty of a good teacher to indicate the correct way in which this must be used to get the most out of it. advantage.
Translation is a teaching tool used to learn a new language to develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

INTRODUCTION

    Translation has always played a very important role in all times and in all cultures, somehow we have been exposed to the translation of some new or old text from movies, songs, the network, in clothing, and traditional books including the bible. 
However, people often don't realize the importance of translation in our lives and in the dissemination and interpretation not only of art but more importantly, of knowledge itself.  With translation we can solve everyday problems that arise from not knowing other languages, from the operation of any appliance with its manuals and instructions, through the globalization of scientific knowledge to literature, to bring to light unknown works for the reading public and of great eternity as literary Nobel’s.
    Imagine a world where we could understand each other perfectly. The language would be translated as we spoke, and those uncomfortable moments in which we try to be understood would be a thing of the past. I believe that translation has been an important part of the teaching of the English language for a long time, but it has been abandoned since communicative methodologies have been key because programmers have been pursuing this elusive idea for years. Nowadays, we have free tools at our disposal as well as other applications and computer equipment that affirm that they translate foreign languages while the interlocutor is speaking, which proclaim that they perform a task similar to that of a multilingual interpreter trained in the university and with professional experience. I also believe that translation is not just a matter of words and that automating the process of substituting one for another can never be a substitute for human translation. The translation has to do with the meaning of words, with their connotative as well as denotative meaning, and with how to express the meaning, so that it is both readable and understandable. 
     Some people believe that with technological innovation one word can be substituted mechanically for another, but with minimal syntactic restructuring, it is an acceptable way to translate. In 1949, Warren Weaver, a highly talented scientist and mathematician, summed up this early way of thinking: "Naturally, one wonders if it makes sense to treat the problem of translation as a cryptography problem. Russian, I say to myself that, in fact, it is written in English, but that it has been encoded in strange symbols, and that I am going to proceed to decode it. “For Weaver, the translation consisted only of removing one symbol and placing another. The true meaning of these "strange symbols" was considered irrelevant. Machines, for example, help lawyers, doctors, and teachers, they don't replace them. In the same line, the machines help us, the translators, to work better, and can contribute to the precision. Nowadays, mechanical translation can produce coarse drafts of a relatively simple language, but for now and it is doubtful that they will ever be able to do so, they do not replace the brain of a translator (human being).

CONCLUSION

    To conclude I can say that translation is and still is so important for our lives since it is irreplaceable when there is technological mechanization, it also allows us to access knowledge and know the important contributions for the humanity of other people who don't share our language.
But that depends on our work to continue cultivating it since nothing will replace us no matter how advanced the technology is. 
    Vermeer (1986, p.34) considers that the condition for the translation to be to become an integral element of the target culture is to unleash a phenomenon from its previous cultural frameworks of the base culture and implant it in new cultural frameworks of the target culture. Only in this way could we achieve what we call the pragmatic-cultural coherence of the translated text.

  The fact that translation activities have a positive impact in students’ abilities can be measured through the time, learners, become more skilled as they’re exposed to these kinds of activities, which with the appropriate feedback and continuum focus, can lead to great performance enhancement. As learners are given suitable feedback, their brains start to learn how to better accommodate words in their L1 so that it makes sense in the local language, rather than looking for translating word for word, which leads most of the times to a lack of sense in which is being read or listened; or misunderstanding from the public the message is addressed to. These kinds of activities are often overlooked perhaps because teachers might think that there is no authentic communication exercise in an open social manner, so they and their curriculums rather focus on grammar, listening vocabulary. Reading is also another skill that is not often worked, being underestimated in the communicative affairs.
   One way of introducing translation techniques without interfering with the other cognitive and linguistic processes is to assign translation homework, from 3 to five exercises per class, these will be checked and feedback. Sometimes they’ll be from the target language to the L1, some other times from their L1 to the target language and sometimes in combination.
This way will definitely help students get used to translation drills and will help them become more effective when in translation activities.

CONCLUSION

   The study, mastery, and use of the English language is a fact of positive and necessary cultural connotation. In times like the current one of a great advance in technologies and an increasing globalization, the English language occupies an important and indispensable place for the economic development, becoming a factor of a solution of communication needs and approach to other peoples.    
  In this sense, translation as a means of intralinguistic communication is the technical and methodological basis where it is necessary to apply in a practical way the acquired knowledge and skills developed in the English language. To achieve these purposes it is necessary to understand the true meaning of the starting texts (foreign or maternal) where the linguistic and extralinguistic aspects are present.
   Translation brings many advantages to our lives, allows us to solve basic and everyday problems such as learning to use a device made in another country whose language is not ours, just by reading the manual in our language, it also allows us to access knowledge and know the contributions of great scientists and personalities who do not share our mother tongue.
  Translation is and still is so important for our lives since it is irreplaceable when there is technological mechanization.
   “Humans can translate, computers only appear to translate. The raw result of the process performed by fully-automatic MT systems is not really a translation, but a pseudo translation. (Torrens: 1994:387)”
